St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church
1618 Lower Main St., Wailuku HI 96793
Led by Artistic Director & Conductor John Rowehl, with pianist Lotus Dancer, the 80-voice chorus will share sacred and secular music of the season, featuring a mix of the familiar and the new, with a special focus on calling peace into our world.
Guest musicians include soprano Molly Schad, percussionist Peter Della Croce, and a string quartet, with Patrice Weed Shearer and AeKyong Yoo on violin, Teresa Skinner on viola, and Michael Hitchcock on cello. The string quartet will accompany Dan Forrest’s sumptuous arrangements of “Angels We Have Heard on High” and “Silent Night,” Ola Gjeilo’s epic “Tundra,” and the iconic “Let There Be Peace on Earth” that closes the concert, as well as other works. Molly Schad will be featured in a short set from Handel’s Messiah, singing the original (but rarely heard) version of “Rejoice, Greatly” in 12/8.
